Simple Christmas Zentangle for Kids

Coloring books are relaxing and fun but we highly recommend making Zentangles for a fun art project instead! Here’s a simple Christmas Zentangle that you can do with your kids. All the ideas in this project use lines or circles making it easy for a child to do.
Simple Christmas Zentangle for Kids
1. Start by drawing a triangular Christmas tree like the one below– a big triangle for the tree and a rectangle for the trunk.
2. Draw straight or curvy lines that criss-cross the tree.
Now you’re ready to start doodling aka. Zentangling in the sections of the tree!
3. Simple ideas kids can easily do: stars, snowflakes, checkers, and bubbles. (See a huge selection of more challenging patterns here.)

See the full project photo below for a few more line and circle ideas.
My kids prefer gel pens for this project but really you can use pencil or any kind of thin-point pen or marker. Whatever you have and enjoy using to draw and color.
What do you think about this Christmas Zentangle project idea? Would your kids like it?
We think it’s GREAT for cozy days indoors!! Add a cup of hot cocoa, some beautiful Christmas carol music, and enjoy!
