How to Make Cute Clay Creatures

Ready for our new favorite crafty book? Modeling Clay with 3 Basic Shapes by Bernadette Cuxart! It shares step-by-step directions and photographs for kids to create cute clay animals. (Or cute eraser creatures as we did.) And your kids can do it BY THEMSELVES!
Using three basic shapes — a ball, a worm, and a teardrop — this step by step book will show you how to make tons of cute creatures. 40 in total. You’ll read directions for making animals like a panda, owl, rhino, kitten, puppy, turtle, fish, dinosaur, and seal.
The book was written to be used with modeling clay but ours had dried out so we used Creatibles which is similar to modeling but it is clay for making erasers.
My 11-year-old daughter, JJ, loves to make erasers because they turn out great! We knew it was a good choice to use with this book’s cute animal projects..
Incidentally, Creatibles is one of our go-to gifts for birthday parties right now. Also, it’s a fun activity to do when a friend comes to play.
However, if you want modeling clay, we recommend Magic Clay (air dry) and Polymer Clay (oven bake).
Back to the book…
The directions are well-written and easy to follow. The animal projects are adorable, as you can tell.
Once you’re done making your creature, read the directions on your clay. For our erasers, we baked it in the toaster oven for about 30 minutes. The size will stay the same but the creature will become more shiny.
JJ loves bringing her special erasers to school as well as gifting them to friends. (She gets requests!)
We hope you like this book as much as us. Happy crafting!

These are really cute. Kids really love to play playdough coz it really enhance their imagination and creativity. We’ve done different playdough activities with GIA www. georgia. edu.ph and we took too much time doing this home-based activity because it is very relaxing and entertaining as well. 🙂
Thank you Melissa for this post , and your words !!!
