My kids and I LOVE The Unofficial Guide to Crafting the World of Harry Potter: 30 Magical Crafts for Witches and Wizards — from Pencil Wands to House Colors Tie-Dye Shirts by Jamie Harrington. The first craft that my 11-year old JJ picked to do was the Monster Book of Monsters Tablet Case craft. (Next we’re making the Spellbook Journal and the Golden Snitch necklace.)
Creative projects plus easy-to-follow directions with excellent photographs make this a creative, must-own book for Harry Potter fans like us.
Harry Potter Monster Book of Monsters Tablet Case Craft
Materials:
faux fur
scissors
hot glue gun (use the low temp option for kids)
tablet cover
fake teeth
google eyes
Hot glue or double stick tape the faux fur to the tablet case.
You can buy low heat hot glue guns that are safe for kids to use. (My 11-year old uses hers almost daily for crafting projects.)
Cut the edges of faux fur off the sides of the tablet case.
Add the monster’s eyeballs with the hot glue gun.
Then cut the plastic (or rubber) fake teeth in half and glue them to the front inside of the case. Top and bottom.
Finally, put your device in it’s new case.
My daughter was so excited about this craft — both in making it and then showing all her friends!
Don’t forget that you must stroke the spine to make sure your Monster Book of Monsters doesn’t bite you!
